I enjoyed reading The Order of Time by Carlo Rovelli, 2018. A fine summary of what physicists and philosophers of the past and present have thought about time, cogent examples, poetic analogies, good explanations of the issues involved, clear and readable.
"The entire evolution of science would suggest that the best grammar for thinking about the world is that of change, not permanence. Not of being, but of becoming.
We can think of the world as made up of things. Of substances. Of entities. Of something that is.
Or we can think of it as made up of events. Of happenings. Of processes. Of something that occurs."
- Order of Time, p. 97
I now have two other books to read by Carlo Rovelli, an Italian theoretical physicist and popular science author. I borrowed the two books from the Cascade Library Branch of the Vancouver Regional Library District.

Process Philosophy: Bibliography, History, Links, Information, Quotes. By Michael P. Garofalo
My own recent poetic reflections on Time, from my Slices of Time After Time:
.....
"The arrow of Time never rests,
moving forward unrelenting
irreversible
from hot towards cold
from organized to disorganized
from past to future
from moving towards stillness
from life towards death.
Or, so it seems,
to us,
with our little particulars in view,
and our social survival habits a must.
The spiderwebs of Time are legion,
multitudes of nows of heres;
Uncountable heres and theres
unhitched
from any eternal present everywhere." .....

I love acryllics because of the wonderful 3D texture they add to canvas. This is a very lovely painting with great texture, very nice neutral colors that would go with just about any type of decor and it's the perfect size for that big awkward space about a bed! We put it above the queen size bed in our guest room and it adds just the perfect touch! It comes with hanging hardware as well which is very nice. It feels well made and we love it! Definitely recommend. painting canvas manufacturers
ReplyDeleteJust what I needed- my fall living room has teal blue and this pulls my room together original art oil on canvas
This wall art arrives looking just as expected from the picture and description. The canvas is rectangular with good square corners. The painting continues onto the sides for that gallery look finish so no frame is required. It comes with the hanging hardware already on so it is ready to hang as soon as it arrives. It is packed inside its own cardboard box with corner protectors and plastic. It is priced right or maybe a little better value as the materials do seem to be that which will hold up over time and the workmanship is nice. original abstract canvas art
