Gardening Projects

We worked hard this last week on removing cattails from our east pond, removing three large dead cypress trees, moving cut items to a new large burn pile, planting new trees in our orchard, watering, and many household repairs.  Each day, Karen and I worked from 4 to 6 hours outdoors.

We are very concerned about the lack of rain the past four months.  We are in drought conditions.  There is no snow on Mt. Lassen. It has been very cold and dry every day.  No rain predicted.

Today, we plan to work on our south orchard.  We will purchase four new bare root trees from Kathy and Davis Goodin, and plant them.

We now have 50 trees planted in our south orchard.  There are apples, apricots, crabapples, figs, grapes, nectarines, peaches, persimmons, plums, etc.
