It has been very cold this past week. Temperatures dropped to 24F at night, and rose to 42F during the day.
We brought all the potted plants that are frost tender up to our back enclosed porch next to Bruno's outdoor sleeping quarters. Some plants were lost to the freezing temperatures.
I need to prune all my roses down to the ground for their protection during the colder winter months.
We will be pruning all our field orchard trees in the coming week. We will also be planting a new row of trees (e.g., figs, nectaries, grapes) in the south field. We will be adding new drip lines.
Both Karen and I have been resting, staying warm, staying indoors, and fighting off winter colds.
