Open the Gate and Walk the Dog

"Let me arise and open the gate, to breathe
the wild warm air of the heath,
And to let in Love, and to let out Hate,
And anger at living and scorn of Fate,
To let in Life, and to let out Death."
-  Violet Fane

"So will I build my altar in the fields,
And the blue sky my fretted dome shall be,
And the sweet fragrance that the wild flower yields
Shall be the incense I will yield to thee."
-  Samuel Taylor Coleridge

"Some keep the Sabbath going to Church,
I keep it staying at Home -
With a bobolink for a Chorister,
And an Orchard, for a Dome."
-  Emily Dickinson, No. 324, St. 1, 1862

Dogs

Karen and I have a dog we care for.  His name is Bruno.  He is a bull terrier mixed breed.  He looks like pictures of Shaffordshire Bull Terriers or American Pit Bull Terriers.  Mid-sized dog, 53 lbs, muscular and energetic outdoors on our five acres of land.  He behaves calmly, quietly, and politely while indoors in our home office.  He has fairly good manners for a 9 month old dog.

Has a sheltered sleeping area on our back screened porch.  One door is open for the dog to go outdoors into the enclosed run and shrubbery and fenced area.

  1. He will be a perfect walking companion, be shine or rain. Will you keep him permanently? Our schnauzer, picked up from the road, has given us tremendous love and happiness through the last 9 yrs., but then, we don't have kids, haha!

  2. We will be keeping this dog. He is learning quickly and seems well behaved in our living circumstances. I walk him every day - yesterday there was snow on the ground in the early morning here in Red Bluff
